Everyone was moving a little slow after the holiday weekend but after an embarrassing shutout on night one, the Incrediboules came to play this Monday! The first round of triples was an even split but as we entered the second round of doubles, it was clear the batteries were running low for Big Boule Energy. They took two our of four games with Woody/Chris and Manny/Steve dropping some hammers while Anna and Laura came back from 5-0 hole to go up 10-5. Marco and Aaron got their act together and came back to tie it 10-10 and Aaron had one boule left for the win but choked and threw it straight up in the air.

In the third frame, it was a clean (or rather pretty dirty) sweep of triples. All in all, the Incrediboules went 5-2-1 pulling even in the standings. More importantly, they sent a clear message that they are not going to be trampled on this season. Rookies Steve, Laura, and Chris went undefeated for the evening, as did coaches Woody and Anna.

Perhaps Big Boule Energy had just a bit too much energy on the 4th so pull it together against their tee-totaling opponents. But something tells me they’ll be back next week looking for some revenge…

The rain couldn’t keep the Tuesday Night faithful from showing up for a little splétanque! We got a couple of games off before the weather got really bad and put an end to the evening. Panchito pulled slightly ahead in the race with a seamless victory from coach Kasia and rookies Jeff and Zach, the only team players in attendance for the evening. Everyone else played for splits, leaving a tightly packed group in the standings. But it is early yet with much more to come this season. Still anyone’s league to win…

But clearly the race for the coveted Pétanque Sicko award has started heating up. Y’all were wearing garbage bags in the pouring rain! Now that it some sicko-type behavior!!
